6:30 PM: Document Review and Signing
The Selectmen reviewed the weekly A/P manifest, signed checks, and reviewed items. Mr. Hopkins approached the board for a brief conversation. The conversation was a very short run down on projects Mr. Hopkins is aware of in Town.
6:50 PM: School Board Representative John Gryval
Mr. Gryval came before the Selectmen in order to inform the Board that he had spoken to both candidates for School Board election and that he was committed to training either person on conclusion of the election in March. He felt that the Board of Selectmen should know that he had made preparations such that when he steps down his replacement will receive some training so that they understand the school issues and background. There was a short discussion about the article in the Monadnock Ledger that outlined the two people competing for the School Board position. The conversation turned to the Selectman’s position that Mr. Gryval signed up for. Mr. Gryval noted that there would be an article in the Monadnock Ledger with statements from Deb Davidson and himself and the positions that they were taking prior to Town
Meeting. The Selectmen thanked Mr. Gryval for attending the meeting and indicated that they appreciated his diligence with respect to passing on training for the School Board post.
7:00 PM: Review of Resident Request
The Board reviewed concerns presented by Desire Belmore in a previous meeting. The Belmore family is looking for the Board to advise if the Board has any ability to help with an issue that they are having with another resident in Greenfield. After review the Board asked the Administrator to speak to Town Counsel for his input.
7:15 PM: Other Business updates
A request by Adele Hale to allow her to host an indoor flea market at the Meeting House, from which proceeds will be donated to the Town’s Recreation Revolving fund, was heard. The date requested is March 31st. The Selectmen voted to allow the event 2-0.
A resume for the Welfare Director position was reviewed. The Board indicated that the application period should run for another week and then they would review any additional resumes and make a decision.
The Board reviewed the AST Permit for petroleum based products at the Recycling Center and asked the Administrator if Supervisor Burgess could check to see if there were any advantage to separating the DPW and Recycling center lots by lot-line adjustment. Would this allow both sites the ability to have 1320 gallons of new and used product at each location, versus the 1320 that is allowed on both sites today?
Peter Hopkins came before the Board to advise on building projects currently underway in town. One project requires a cut across the pavement on a town road to install the waste water line. The Board asked if there were a form that contractors or homeowners fill out to establish liability if the road is not repaved correctly. There was a brief discussion on the subject. Follow up with Catherine Shaw and Tim Murray was suggested.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Chairman Kullgren moved to adjourn the meeting. Selectwoman Day seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 7:20 PM
Respectfully Submitted:
Aaron Patt
Town Administrator
The minutes are final when approved and signed by the Board of Selectmen. A signed copy is on file in the Selectmen’s minutes.
